I am participating for the second time in “Philosophical Contemplative Companionship” with four other people. You can see a nice graphic about it here. The concept comes from the work of John Vervaeke.
In this practice we discuss only one sentence from a larger reading. The discussion treats language as a mode of transformation. There is a notion that we are some how “embodying” language rather than merely ingesting it or devouring it.
How else can language be transformative?
While revising a book of poetry (out in late 2021), I had the feeling today that my next poetry book should be one line poems. Perhaps these poems will be opportunities for transformation.
In this I am inspired by Ezra Pound.

The 30 min bookclub!
In the spirit of transformational language, I am creating the 30 min bookclub.
We will meet weekly on Wednesday at 12:30 EST for 30 minutes to discuss Naked Lunch By William Burroughs. I am going to keep this small, so if you are interested in participating in this experiment let me know.
